{"id":1124,"date":"2014-05-30T11:22:52","date_gmt":"2014-05-30T03:22:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nemmadventist.org\/?p=1124"},"modified":"2014-05-30T11:22:52","modified_gmt":"2014-05-30T03:22:52","slug":"perpetual-and-unalterable","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.nemmadventist.org\/?p=1124","title":{"rendered":"Perpetual and Unalterable"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>Come, and let us join ourselves to the Lord, in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten. \u00a0Jeremiah 50:5<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A covenant is an agreement by which parties bind themselves and each other to the fulfillment of certain conditions. \u00a0Thus the human agent enters into agreement with God to comply with the conditions specified in His Word. \u00a0His conduct shows whether or not he respects these conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Man gains everything by obeying the covenant-keeping God. \u00a0God&#8217;s attributes <span id=\"3f392d60-2366-4c52-91d1-b21b04ef39a4\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">are imparted<\/span> to man, enabling him to exercise mercy and compassion. \u00a0God&#8217;s covenant assures us of His unchangeable character&#8230; \u00a0We must know for <span id=\"e5983fd0-3fed-42f7-9592-b456e329dbbe\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">ourserlves<\/span> what His requirements and our obligations are. \u00a0The terms of God&#8217;s covenant are, &#8220;Thou shalt love the <span id=\"17ab597a-f62e-4105-93ce-c09f87e2087b\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">Lord they<\/span> God with all thy heart, and with all <span id=\"07827b86-bbbe-4db2-95a0-f2d9a0e6c7dd\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">they<\/span> soul, and with all <span id=\"55fabce5-b5e3-401d-9714-12d29c8d700b\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">they<\/span> strength, and with all thy\u00a0mind; and they <span id=\"9fdaa25b-dc4f-494a-a37e-660452cb9344\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">neighbour<\/span> as thyself.&#8221; \u00a0These are the conditions of life. \u00a0&#8220;This <span id=\"e0af0a0e-019f-4f71-8f0c-e301bc767b8a\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">do<\/span>,&#8221; Christ said, &#8220;and thou shalt\u00a0live&#8221; Luke 10:27,28.<\/p>\n<p>The law of God was written with His own finger on tables of stone, thus showing that it could never be changed or abrogated. \u00a0It is to be preserved through the eternal ages, immutable as the principles of His government&#8230; Christ gave His life to make it possible for man to be restored to the image of God. \u00a0It is the power of His grace that draws men together in obedience to the truth.<\/p>\n<p>My bretheren, bind up with the Lord God of hosts. \u00a0Let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread&#8230;
