{"id":1778,"date":"2020-01-23T17:54:32","date_gmt":"2020-01-23T09:54:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nemmadventist.org\/?p=1778"},"modified":"2020-01-23T17:54:34","modified_gmt":"2020-01-23T09:54:34","slug":"sermon-why-serve-the-lord","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.nemmadventist.org\/?p=1778","title":{"rendered":"Sermon:  Why Serve the Lord?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Key Text:  John 3:16 &#8220;For God so loved\u00a0the world that he gave\u00a0his one and only Son,\u00a0that whoever believes\u00a0in him shall not perish but have eternal life.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We do a lot of things for many different reasons.&nbsp; Every action happened because of\npurpose.&nbsp; Every that is rendered\nwholeheartedly has reasons behind.&nbsp;\nPeople keep encouraging every Christian, youth, to serve the Lord but\nwithout understanding the reasons, it is hard to serve God wholeheartedly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today we are going to discover if there are reasons to serve the\u00a0 Lord and in order to do that, we have to pick the most common biblical text that is known by many.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 3:16 is the most famous verse in the whole entire bible.\u00a0 It is memorized by children and adults.\u00a0 But reciting it doesn\u2019t really bring us to a realization that there is a God who would save us.\u00a0 There must be an inner understanding of the whole expression of love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What does John 3:16 say?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For God so loved&nbsp;the world that he gave&nbsp;his one and\nonly Son,&nbsp;that whoever believes&nbsp;in him shall not perish but have\neternal life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are four interesting things that we can discover in this passage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\u201cFor God so loved\u201d \u2013 the phrase that described that God is loved. (1 John 4:8).\u00a0 1 John 4:7-10 \u201cBeloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this, the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent his only begotten Son into the world that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins&#8221;<\/li><li>\u201cGod so loved the World\u201d \u2013 God further expresses His love to the world.\u00a0 The object of his love \u2013 the world.\u00a0 This means that God loves everything that is in the world and that includes humans.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t matter who you are, or where you\u2019ve been, what you have done, He loves you and the most important thing is His love is everlasting.\u00a0 Jeremiah 31:3\u00a0says &#8220;The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness, I have drawn you.<\/li><li>God\u2019s love prompts him to sacrifice himself \u2013 what is that sacrifice?\u00a0 It is the death on the cross.\u00a0 It is bearing the pain and sin.\u00a0 He died, was buried and rise again.\u00a0 1 Cor. 15:3-4)\u00a0 &#8220;But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.&#8221;\u00a0 It is so hard to believe that someone could die instead of us, but the bible tells us that it happens.\u00a0 It is done in the cross, he was victoriously rose up from the dead.\u00a0 That is something, and it could only happen because of His love for us.<\/li><li>Accepting God\u2019s love and sacrifice means only salvation \u2013 The recipient of this love receives eternal life.\u00a0 Accepting God\u2019s gift of love means everlasting life.\u00a0 Everyone who believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t matter what race or tribes, or your social status, or your attitude when you accept God you will have eternal life.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>This was given for free, paid by the blood of the lamb.\u00a0 Is it enough to be a motivating factor to serve the Lord?\u00a0 He loves you, sends his son for you so that you will have eternal life? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joshua when he understands that love of Christ, boldly say, \u201cAs for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.\u201d Joshua 24:15<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why serve the Lord?
