For the first time in Northeastern Mindanao Mission , a program intended to express thanks and gratitude to mayors has come to reality. The special activity is called \u201cSalamat Mayor\u201d Recognition Program.<\/p>\n

Northeastern Mindanao Mission PARL hosted\u00a0 the program at the mission\u00a0 Function Hall at the 3rd<\/sup> floor of the building. It happened last August 24, 2011. At 4:00 P.M.\u00a0 Fifteen Municipality mayors with the city Mayor of Butuan were cordially invited. Due to conflict of schedules of the mayors, some did not arrive. Some were sending representatives only\u00a0 on their behalf.\u00a0 However some were there to witness how Adventist welcome them in a program.<\/p>\n

The program was really a unique one having part 1 for the welcome speech by the NEMM President Solomon V. Mongaya who made mention that the organization of Seventh-Day Adventist set-up is like that of the government because it is composed of many departments in which one of its departments, the PARL is responsible of the program of Salamat Mayor.\u00a0 It was reinforced by\u00a0 Pr. Nelson Paulo, SPUC PARL Director who gave\u00a0 the reason why the mayors were invited . Pr. Donald E. Zabala, the HOPE Channel Director of Visayas\u00a0 introduced\u00a0 the speaker\u00a0 Dr. Jonathan C. Catolico, PARL Director of Southern Asia \u2013 Pacific Division who\u00a0 gave an inspirational message. Dr. Catolico\u00a0 was the one who proposed this program to the Union and\u00a0 mission counterparts through-out the Philippines and it is Butuan who responded\u00a0 first under the leadership of Pr. MaxDante B. Obbus, the mission PARL Director.\u00a0 After Dr. Catolico\u2019s\u00a0 inspirational message a\u00a0 dedicatory prayer\u00a0 was offered by him together with\u00a0 Pr. Solomon Mongaya.<\/p>\n

In part 2 all mayors present were given recognition and appreciation . A very nice trophy was handed to each of the mayors .\u00a0 Butuan City Mayor Amante then gave his response.\u00a0 He cited a Bible text that \u201c If my people shall humble themselves\u2026then he is worthy to be recognized and thanked for.\u201d He further said that Seventh- Day Adventists is the first religious\u00a0 group who gave honors to government officials like mayors.\u00a0 He has high regards on SDA\u2019s for being partner in moral recovery.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a similar program like this in our place.\u201d Mayor Monton of Jabonga said. \u201cBut this program is a special one coming from a religious group.\u201d , he added.\u00a0 He gratefully acknowledged the SDA\u2019s for being so quick in responding to the their needs on our welfare program\u00a0 during the calamity in his municipality.<\/p>\n

Indeed the program is very successful with the presence of \u201c Motivators\u201d\u00a0 singers that entertain the visitors . The musical instruments rendition of Pr Saramosing and Pr. Cena, and Alfed\u00a0 Ba-al on their Saxophone and Liz Dawis on her Violin impressed them as they applauded loudly .<\/p>\n

All guests including the staff of each mayor\u00a0 were served with the palatable foods catered by the MAKUNO\u2019s catering services.\u00a0 It was a great success!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
