Last September 2 and 3 , 2008, Philippine Publishing House (PPH) President Ptr. Florante F. Ty together with Northeastern Mindanao Mission (NEMM) publishing director, Mr. Ruben J. Caberte, NEMM treasurer , Mr Cirilo S. Baal, PPH Butuan branch manager, Mr. Willie Molo, Retired publishing director Edgar Piocnacia, visited a national high school in Lumbocan, Butuan city and gave 500 copies of Ten Commandments to teachers and students. All students came out of the classrooms and gathered in front of the stage to receive their copies and appreciated very much the book. Most of them opened and read the book while getting back into their classrooms. They were attracted to the simple explanation and illustrations of each commandment.
The principal , Mrs Esperanza C. Caballero inspired the students and encouraged them to read the book for their subject Values Education and offered an incentive to be given to the first 3 highest in the examination about the book by December.
The following day the group except Mr. Edgar Piocnacia proceeded to Surigao City and met the mayor, Hon. Alfonso Servana Casurra.and handed to him another 500 copies of Ten commandments for his personnels. The mayor gladly welcome the group and gave each of them a T-shirt souvenir from the city government as his token of appreciation to them.
These 1000 copies of books are sponsored by Covina International Church in United States under the leadership,of Pastor Romeo “Bong” Canales, a former Education Director of Northern Mindanao Conference, Cagayan de Oro city of South Philip[pines.
