The evening service, held under the theme of rebuilding and restoration, left a profound impact on the hundreds of young Adventists gathered at Mountain View College.

Elder Caderma’s sermon revolved around the REACT principle, a five-step framework for spiritual growth and action. He urged campers to first reflect on their spiritual journey and relationship with God, encouraging them to examine their lives and identify areas needing renewal. Next, he challenged them to explore deeper truths and opportunities for growth in their faith, emphasizing the importance of studying God’s Word and seeking His will. The third step, assist, focused on fostering a spirit of community by helping others in their walk with Christ. Elder Caderma then called on the campers to construct a stronger foundation of faith by rebuilding personal altars of devotion, symbolizing a renewed commitment to God. Finally, he emphasized the need to take action by making tangible commitments to live out their faith in daily life.

Drawing inspiration from the life of the prophet Elisha, Elder Caderma emphasized three key principles for spiritual transformation: discipleship, mentorship, and transition to a new life. He encouraged campers to seek guidance from mentors, embrace their calling, and step boldly into a life fully dedicated to God. The sermon also highlighted four significant biblical locations that symbolize stages of spiritual growth: Gilgal, representing the cutting away of sin and old habits; Bethel, the house of God where one encounters His presence; Jericho, a place of overcoming challenges and obstacles; and Jordan River, symbolizing the crossing into a new life of faith and commitment.

Elder Caderma concluded his message with a heartfelt call for baptism, inviting campers to make a public commitment to Christ. The response was overwhelming, as many young people stepped forward to answer the call. Dr. Bienvenido Mergal, SSD Education Director, offered a special prayer for those who committed to be baptized the following day, asking for God’s guidance and strength as they prepared to take this significant step in their spiritual journey.

The vesper worship service left a lasting impression on the campers, inspiring them to rebuild their spiritual altars and deepen their relationship with God. The event at Mountain View College continues to be a transformative experience for young Adventists across the Southern Asia-Pacific Division, as they gather to worship, learn, and grow together in their faith.

Mountain View College, Philippines – In a moving vesper worship service during the SSD-Wide Camporee, Elder Roger Caderma, President of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD), delivered a compelling message titled Rebuild the Altar, challenging campers to embrace spiritual renewal through the REACT principle.
