In a heartwarming ceremony in Davao City, nine ministers’ wives led by Mrs Kenneth C. Ba-al – MSA Coordinator from Northeastern Mindanao Mission of the Seventh-day Adventists marked the completion of their journey through the Ministerial Spouses Certification Program. The event, orchestrated by the Ministerial Spouses Association (MSA), was a testament to the dedication and growth of these individuals.
The program, coordinated by Mrs. Jel Palomares and Mrs. Marife Patalinghug, was held at the Davao Mission from March 21-23. The theme, “The Renewed You,” resonated with the attendees, all members of the MSA from the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission and the Southwestern Philippine Union Conference.
The gathering featured insightful sessions led by esteemed speakers such as Mrs. Palomares, Mrs. Sherly Bacus, Mrs. Patalinghug, and Mrs. Danita Caderma – MSA Coordinator from the Southern Asia Pacific Division. Their talks highlighted the significance of nurturing relationships for better physical and emotional health, echoing Caderma’s words on the importance of human connections.
Adding to the spiritual enrichment was a delightful social outing, where the spouses enjoyed the beauty of Samal Island through an island-hopping adventure. This blend of spiritual and social activities made for a memorable experience for all involved.
The completion of the certification program signifies a new chapter for these ministerial spouses as they continue to support their partners and contribute to their communities. As Glaiza Andrade one of the MSA member in NEMM mentioned that, “It encapsulates the idea that pastors’ wives should be motivated by a genuine desire to touch people and lead them to Jesus rather than just duty when serving in the ministry.” Even though there may be obstacles on our path, the rewards in the end make it all worthwhile, she added.
