Driven with enthusiasm and determination—the Northeastern Mindanao Mission Adventist Youth Ministries or AYM conducted a Youth Leaders Training on January 19th-20th, 2024, with the theme “Leaders for Mission.” With around 24 youth leaders from different areas of North Caraga were gathered at the headquarters’ Conference Room in Butuan City, Philippines. With a shared vision to foster a thriving system and curriculum that resounds the voices of the young generation. The assembly was indeed exceptional and important, for it was also a declaration and revelation of the newly elected Northeastern Mindanao Mission Adventist Youth Ministries director, Pastor Anecito C. Pableo. Conducted by the newly elected Northeastern Mindanao Mission Youth Ministries director, alongside with the guest speaker— former Northeastern Mindanao Mission president, who is now the newly elected Southwestern Philippine Union Conference Executive Secretary, Pastor Max Dante Obbus.
SWPUC Executive Secretary of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Pastor Max Dante Obbus conveyed the foregrounds of a Christ-centered leader that exhibits remarkable characteristics. Leading by example, a servant leader should have a personal development and growth towards spiritual maturity. The primary account of chosen leaders for the mission is liable in shaping, equipping, and advancing the young people effectively in the Ministry. It was emphasized that leaders should give great significance to the Discipleship Process as an essential aspect of Faith— demonstrating constructive learners, producers and mentors. The guest speaker also raised further grasp of the Friendship Camp framework and how to effectively utilize it for an extensive evangelism, adding the root core of Fcamp and other programs under Adventist Youth Ministries.
NEMM Adventist Youth Ministries director, Pastor Anecito C. Pableo, vigorously welcomed the young leaders and delegates, discussing the importance of obedience, unity and respect as a hallmark of a great leader, even in difficult circumstances in a shared mission. He motivated the young individuals by sharing the life of David, emphasizing how God will utilize and train you because you were born for the mission. That He will utilize your availability, resources, even your strengths and weaknesses— for the divine work that He laid for the young people in the ministry. He highlighted that there should be positivity despite hindrances, knowing that God will supply and make things possible especially for His mission.
During the culmination, the young leaders had to brainstorm and raised concerns regarding to the curriculumn presented. Pastor Anecito Pableo handed out a year-plan and recognition of different tasks to different divisions, conducting dynamic and resolute activities for the young people and for the expansion of ministry.
The Leadership training conlcuded with an open forum. The attendees expressed their insights and perspectives to challenges, looking forward to new approaches and empowering activities this year. Committed to serve and determined to take the challenges, these young leaders are ready and available for the service in the ministry and share the good news of salvation. Moreover, they pledged that more individuals will be blessed and be encouraged, with the faith and vision they carry under the leadership of the new Youth Director and reliance to God, everything will be established. The Northeastern Mindanao Mission Youth Leaders Training was a success. A remarkable moment of unity and respect, the young leaders expressed their gratitude and how God transformed them through the guest speaker, Pastor Max Dante Obbus and their new Youth Director, Pastor Anecito Pableo. This marked as the beginning of an exciting and vigorous challenges we can anticipate for this year in the Adventist Youth Ministries. The beginning of a great commitment and agreement as a young individual in the service for the Lord and his mission.
